Golden Visa
Who can obtain it?
Foreign nationals who intend to make an investment in Portugal, individually or through a company, that meets the legal criteria for a minimum period of five years.
How to obtain it
To obtain a Golden Visa, the applicant must prove they will make at least one of the following investments:
- Capital transfer exceeding €500,000 for the acquisition of units in investment funds (excluding real estate) for at least 5 years, with 60% of the investment value in Portuguese companies
- Creation of at least 10 jobs
- Capital transfer exceeding €500,000 for the formation of a commercial company in Portugal combined with the creation of five permanent jobs
- Capital transfer exceeding €500,000 applied to reinforcing the share capital of a commercial company in Portugal combined with maintaining 10 jobs (with a minimum of 5 permanent), for at least three years
- Investment of at least €200,000 for artistic production or recovery and maintenance of Portuguese cultural heritage
- Investment of at least €400,000 in scientific research activities
